"OUR GANG"

"Johnny Rotella, Frank & John Trebel"

Dick, the picture was taken on the back steps of our house on Central Avenue. It's the only time in my life that I had a Mohawk haircut. If you have an email and current address for my cousin John I'd be happy to have it. Yes he did grow up in the east end. He was definitely an East End Kid.

I'll check out the questions on the Donnybrooks and get back to you. Thanks again.

The Donnybrooks

The Donnybrooks won a talent contest with KDKA Radio in 1958 and eventually received a recording contract with Calico Records. Their first record, "Everytime We Kiss" was a good seller and the group traveled the East Coast and performed in many night spots in the Western Pennsylvania area. The group was (left to right) John Alterio, Ken Paige, Frank Trebel, and Bob Kobert. They are shown here with Art Pallen, KDKA DJ. The south side natives were organized first by Lou Popiolkowski at the Third Ward School for an eighth grade graduation ceremony.Subject: Canonsburg Friends

Awesome Website

Dear Dick and Class of 59 Classmates,

Sorry it has taken me so long to thank everyone that has worked so hard to keep our class together even if a lot of us are many miles from each other..Miss Neish from Peanut Heaven would be so proud of all of you..I can still see her in front of our Typing and Bookkeeping class like it was yesterday...Where did the years go..

The story about Canonsburg and going to the movies is one I hear from Jerry a good bit.. He talks about when he and his brother went to the movies for 12 cents and his mother would give them an extra nickle to spend on a big old Baby Ruth candy bar..

Happy New Year to Everyone
