George Richard Wyland

Obituary

George Richard Wyland died peacefully Friday, September 26, 2014, in his home, surrounded by family.


He was born in Canonsburg.
After serving his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War era, Mr. Wyland relocated to Richmond, Va.


For more than 50 years, he worked as an installer of new equipment for such companies as AT&T, Western Electric and Lucent Technology.
Deceased are his parents, Mary and Frank Galizia; an infant brother, Kenneth Leroy; a sister, Rosemary Patton; and a son, Richard Joseph Wyland.


Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Danis; a sister, Nancy and husband Gene Clemens of Canonsburg; sons Gregory and Tammy Wyland of North Carolina, Richard "Rickey" and Sidney Wyland and Keith and Patty Davis; a daughter, Twila Gauthier; grandchildren Matt, Will, Robert, Sean, Katrina, Angela, Michelle, Amanda, Kayla and Autumn; a great-grandchild, Erica; nieces Sandra Craig and Pamela Veltri; a nephew, David and wife Sharon Clemens; and great-nieces Amanda Clemens and Valerie and husband Jake Knauer.


Mr. Wyland was laid to rest Wednesday, October 1, in Dale Memorial Park, Chesterfield, Va.
