Ted Mohler - CHS59

Theodore P. "Ted" Mohler, 72, passed away April 25, 2014, from complications related to pulmonary fibrosis.
He was born in Canonsburg to Howard Pridgeon Mohler and Pauline Evelyn Feyche.
Mr. Mohler was admitted to the hospital for complications related to pneumonia in January. As he was his entire life, he was upbeat and positive throughout the challenging last months. Mr. Mohler passed in his home surrounded by his wife and three children.Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Anne Marie Mohler; three children, Linna Jensen, Niels Mohler and Erik Mohler; five grandchildren; and five siblings, John Mohler, Greg Mohler, Rick Mohler, Kenneth Mohler and Alice Collette. Mr. Mohler enlisted in the U.S. Army, progressing though officer candidate school, before retiring with the rank of major after 20-plus years of service, including a tour in Vietnam. He then began a second career as a civil servant, working another 20-plus years in various management positions with the U.S. Army Material Command in northern Virginia. He retired in Temecula, Calif., in 2005, to be near his children. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was always in a positive mood and lived in the moment. He treated everyone he met as a close friend and graciously welcomed everyone into his home. He was never given a handout and was the definition of a self-made man. In the end, he was a simple person to be around and simple person to be happy; a gift we would all be fortunate to inherit. Mr. Mohler's final wishes were for a celebration of life with family and friends in his home. He will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia later this year. Condolences are welcomed in the form of donations to Disabled American Veterans at www.dav.org.
