Canonsburg Business District

(Then and Now)

These two picture contrast a 1952 and a circa 2000's view of a part of downtown Canonsburg 

Both views seen here are from a vantage point looking west from a point near the middle of the first block of East Pike Street.  The only things remaining and in common are the two anchoring (Morgan and CTB/Mellon) buildings located on the southern corners of the intersection of Pike S.and North Central Ave. 

The Beedle's Alhambra movie theater seen on the left of  the 1952 view was one of two available movie theaters of the time.  Admission prices of the day were 16ȼ for the Alhambra was and 12ȼ for the Continental...
